Storyteller Martin
An evening that runs off the rails — on purpose.
Storyteller for hire in Copenhagen. I run social deduction nights for hobby groups, work teams, and people who just want to be someone else for a few hours. At your place, at a venue, or online when distance gets in the way.
What the evening actually is
Not a workshop. Not classic team building. It's an event where you look each other in the eye, one of you is lying, and the rest have to figure out who.
Social deduction is fun in a safe frame
I make a space where you can step outside your comfort zone. Somewhere you’ll need to lie, read each other, and accuse people to pry information loose. Social deduction is detective work — closer to calling a bluff at the poker table than anything else. It’s friendly and all in good faith; but yes, there’ll be lying, and there’ll be friction between you.
It’s not a workshop. It’s social, interactive entertainment.
This kind of event — these kinds of games — doesn’t always work as team building. That’s a fact I’ll honestly stand by. But when they work, you get the evening people talk about for a long time after. It’s not because the game is complicated. It’s because you are. In these games you play the human, and the reading of humans. They’re evenings that run a little off the rails, and that’s by design.
You end up much closer to each other, and you learn a lot about yourselves through the others.
The rules are my problem
You don’t have to have played before, don’t have to have read anything in advance, don’t have to remember what an Empath does at night. I bring the materials, teach the rules as we go, and hold the rhythm of the evening. People who’ve never played walk in confused and leave fluent. People who’ve played for years finally get to sit with the cards in their own hand — though you don’t get to use it as an upper hand.
It’s not about how many of you there are
Five around a kitchen table. Twenty in a canteen. Thirty at a company event. The games scale cleanly, and I’ve run all three. What I match myself to is your energy and what you need, not the group size. What I can promise is that you’ll walk out knowing each other a little better — without anyone having to go through a team-building exercise to get there.
